Curitiba, Brazil
Curitiba, Brazil is located near the coast at the far southern end of the country. The capitol of the Brazilian state of Parana, it is a large city of over a million and a half.
In this city the dillema of Brazil is epitomized. This metropolis is in many respects one of the most prosperous city in Brazil. Yet at the same time it has some of the worst third world slums (called favelas). There is a great chasm between a very few wealthy and those in destitute poverty.
